The Tom Deja Story

In love with a rock and roll world, Midwestern graphic designer Tom Deja draws on a life devoted to the popular culture to create his colorful, humorous and semi-original images.

Bored and bred in Michigan, where he was a part of the incredibly-over-rated/hyped garage punk scene in the mid-1990s, Tom moved to Chicago for a girl and a job, lost both very quickly but stayed anyway.

In 2001 he was asked by some Detroit friends to design dozens of posters for the infamous Lager House and Magic Stick clubs (among others) just as the musical gravy train was pulling into the station, serendipitously giving his art the appearance of credibility. For awhile.

Tom continues to design posters, logos and record covers for bands and huge corporations, does a great deal of freelance illustration work and somehow manages to maintain a thick, luxurious head of hair. In his spare time Tom enjoys music, art, movies, television, video games and spending every penny he earns.
